A Little Color in Anticipation of Spring

Orchids on Display

A cold day is still perfect for visiting the Arboretum.
The conservatory was warm and fragrant and the flowers, spectacular.

The grays and browns of winter are temporarily forgotten with the beauty of hothouse flowers in bloom.
These beauties remind me of “Through the Looking Glass” by Lewis Carroll, where Alice encounters talking flowers that chatter and scold her. Standing among them, with their fragrance filling the air, I can fairly hear them.
The Orchid Show ends March 12.
