Art in Bloom 2026
At the Minneapolis Institute of Art Thursday April 23 10-9, Friday April 24 10-7, Saturday April 25 10-7, and Sunday April 26 11-5

Spring is here and it’s time again for Art in Bloom at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. This year the Minnesota Herb Society is interpreting Processional Image of a Swan in Gallery 211. The art was selected for its origins in India, a major producer and user of Turmeric, the 2026 Herb of the Year.
In keeping with the earth tones of turmeric, we chose yellow Oncidium orchid, red James Storied orchid, eryngium, orange alstroemeria, orange pincushion protea, baby’s breath, and rosemary. To echo the turmeric flower, we chose red flowering ginger. A few wooden discs stained with turmeric accent the arrangement.
New to our group this year is a vessel created by Leila Denecke, courtesy of the Northern Clay Center, that beautifully sets off the flowers. We are excited about this collaboration. It gives the artist exposure, and we get a unique vessel for our arrangement. http://northernclaycenter.org
This year’s participants are Bonnie H., Deb C., Deb N., Ann C., and Carla J.
