August 2017 Recipe of the Month
This month’s recipe comes from our vice-president, Faith. A great easy recipe just right for summer harvest.
6 cup sliced cucumbers
1 cup sliced onions
1 green pepper, chopped
1 cup cider vinegar
2 cups sugar
1 tbsp. kosher salt
1/2 tbsp. celery seed
1/2 tbsp. mustard seed
Heat vinegar, sugar, salt and seeds, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour over cucumbers. Store in the refrigerator.
These keep very well, are easy to make and are great with cold cuts and summer sandwiches.
