Mdewakanton: Dwellers of the Spirit Lake

On a clear September day, members of the MN Herb Society enjoyed a tour of the Hocokatai Ti Cultural Center museum.  Since many of us are interested in the Native American culture, we were interested in learning about the Dakota, who have always lived in this area – where the two rivers meet.  We were also fortunate to see the Wozupi farm, which grows food for the community. In addition to the Three Sisters garden, which was already harvested, we saw an orchard with wild plum, elderberry, and apples.
