Lasagna

This is my family’s all-time favorite meal. – Kathy K.

 

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef                   1/2 tsp salt
1 cup chopped onions                  1/2 tsp basil
2 cloves garlic, minced                 1 cup water
2 tsp oregano

9 to10 lasagna noodles, uncooked
1 large can (29 oz) tomato sauce
1 pint dry curd cottage cheese
2 (8oz) pkgs mozzarella cheese
1 (6oz) can tomato paste
1 can mushrooms, drained

Grated Parmesan cheese

Brown ground beef, onions, garlic, and oregano together, drain. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, mushrooms, and seasonings. Simmer 15 to 20 min. Spoon thin layer of meat sauce in bottom of 9×13 pan. Cover with layer of uncooked lasagna noodles, layer of cottage cheese, layer of meat sauce, layer of mozzarella cheese.

Repeat. End up with thin layer of meat sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 min.
