We had a beautiful day for a field trip the beginning of August.
Our first stop was Will Heal Farm in Cedar, MN. Pat and Rachel welcomed us to their farm and allowed us to freely forage through their gardens. There was a lot of time spent on plant identification and medicinal benefits. Such great information! We then entered the yurt and Rachel demonstrated on how to make switchel. We were able to sample a few different recipes and were offered a small jar to take home with us. We were also able to purchase tinctures and salves. We then traveled to Amery, WI to have lunch at Farm Table Foundation. What a treat. It was amazing! Local grown food. Our last stop was Whetstone Farm in Amery. This farm provides meat and vegetables to Farm Table. Emily was a great hostess on our tour of the farm. We learned so much valuable information on what it takes to raise and harvest organic, chemical free meat and produce. We were also able to purchase mutton/pork and beef products and tallow balm. A busy, well spent day!
